LSEM began nearly 150 years ago – starting as the Lutheran School for the Deaf and then expanding to serve children with many kinds of learning needs as Lutheran Special Education Ministries. While there have been many changes in the past 150 years there are some things that have not changed: LSEM has always served the underserved, the most vulnerable among us, children who have learning disabilities who desire a Christian education.
We will be celebrating our milestone anniversary throughout the upcoming school year. It is our hope that parents, families, schools, churches, and organizations from across the country will join together to recognize this anniversary and LSEM’s 150 years as a ministry by designating a special anniversary gift to LSEM.
Today, LSEM is a Christ-centered resource that supports children who have learning needs. LSEM works with partner schools and congregations to meet the learning needs of the children in their classrooms. In many cases LSEM’s support allows children to attend Christian schools when their schools would otherwise not be able to meet their learning needs.
Your support for LSEM will help children who have learning needs get the Christian education they want and the specialized instruction they need.
Your gift will be a blessing to these children and to their families, their classmates, their teachers, and their school and church communities.
