I am the Special Education teacher at Trinity First Lutheran School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Severe Disabilities and Emotional and Behavioral Disturbances, from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Special Education, and a minor in Autism from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have teaching certificates in Moderate/Severe Disabilities and Early Childhood Special Education in Minnesota. I have taught in Special Education for 25 years. I spent three years in Missouri teaching at a state school for severely handicapped students. I spent five years in Oklahoma working with infants and toddlers, and elementary students in Seward, Nebraska. I also taught a spectrum course at Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska for Introduction to Disabilities. Prior to coming to Trinity First, I taught at Kennedy High School in Bloomington, Minnesota, and started a class for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The last 14 years I have been at Trinity First teaching in our fabulous Resource Room we call the “Treehouse”. I have a wonderful husband whom I have been married to for 25 years and have two children, both of whom attended Trinity First School. I love to walk, workout, garden, cook, play and watch basketball, watch baseball and READ of course! It is my privilege and passion to serve our Savior, teaching children with special needs, at Trinity First Lutheran School!
