Dr. Tracie Salgado – Director of Special Education

Dr. Tracie Salgado has served at Lutheran Special Education Ministries since 2023, as the Director of Special Education, supporting special education teachers serving in Christian schools across the country, as well as advising administrators in private Christian schools, and providing relevant professional development to schools and at conferences.

Previously, she was a special education teacher in Wisconsin, South Carolina, Arizona, and California in both public and charter schools. She also has experience as a respected general education teacher in Wisconsin, New Zealand, and China.

During her career, Tracie has also served on district education committees and as the only teacher appointed as a state commissioner to the Education Commission of the States. Dr. Salgado regularly presents best practices in special education through written and video media. As of 2025, she also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University – Wisconsin.

Along with an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in elementary education, Dr. Salgado has also earned a Diploma in American Sign Language Interpreting and Transliterating from St. Paul Technical College, and a Master’s degree in Exceptional Education with a Baccalaureate in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Studies. In 2020, she earned her Educational Doctorate from Grand Canyon University.
