God at Work Through Professional Development

One of the biggest blessings in my role is getting to see how God works through professional development to touch both teachers and students. Recently, during our RTI (Response to Intervention) training, I had a true WOW moment that I just have to share. 

From a Veteran Teacher’s Perspective: 

A seasoned teacher pulled me aside and told me this was the first time she has ever really felt like she understood the RTI process. She said that in the past, professional development often felt that this process was over her head, but this hands-on approach finally made it click. She was excited that she could immediately practice strategies, especially around Tier 2 interventions, and see how they could help her students. What touched me most was when she said, “We are finally creating a common language across our school.” To hear a veteran teacher, who has taught for years, light up with excitement reminded me of why God calls us to keep growing, no matter how much experience we have. 

From a New Teacher’s Perspective: 

The very next day, one of our brand-new teachers shared her “WOW Moment” with me. She told me how much she is loving being part of our Learning Happens Here professional development. For her, it’s not just about learning strategies, it’s about being part of something Christ-centered that is shaping her as both a teacher and a believer. She said she especially appreciated practicing Tier 2 strategies during our PD time and was thrilled when she tried them in her classroom and saw her students respond right away. She said, “I feel like I’m learning how to teach with both excellence and grace, because our PD is giving me the hands-on experience I need.” Hearing that from a brand-new teacher filled my heart with joy. 

My WOW Reflection: 

These conversations showed me how God is meeting both ends of the teaching journey, our veterans who have been faithfully serving for years, and our brand-new teachers who are just starting out. Both walked away encouraged, equipped, and reminded that their calling is bigger than academics. It’s about growing God’s children, one student at a time. 

This was such a WOW moment for me because I could see so clearly that our professional development isn’t just building teacher skills, it’s building a God-centered culture of unity, encouragement, and growth across our school. That’s the kind of work only He can do, and I’m so thankful to be part of it.
