As a special education teacher, I understand the importance of continuous education and training to improve my students’ learning and my teaching abilities. This is one of the reasons why I was very interested on participating in the Orton-Gillingham training. I knew that the OG approach is not only effective for all students, but I found it to be crucial for teaching my students with specific learning disabilities, like dyslexia.

Implementing the Orton-Gillingham approach to my small group instruction has been a game changer when it comes to how I teach reading, as well as how my students access and are beginning to take charge of their reading.

I always thought that Orton-Gillingham would be a beneficial to my students, but as a person with dyslexia myself, I am amazed at the difference it has made in my life. Using the skills I have learned with Orton-Gillingham, I can now read/decode unknown words with ease.
