Wow Wednesdays - Stories from the Classroom

My WOW story is the growth of my 3rd grade reading group. I worked with both students last year and they have made so much progress so far this year!

Both students have grown in their Fountas & Pinnell reading levels. Both students are applying the reading strategies that we have learned during group (i.e.: looking at the picture in a book, chunking multisyllabic words) to solve tricky words. We are also learning about the different vowel teams and that is helping both students as they are reading leveled text.

The students are also helping one another with decoding words and boosting each other’s reading confidence. I am very proud of their success, and I am looking forward to many more months of learning together!
