Minnesota Principal Sees LSEM Impact

Todd Bentz has served in many Lutheran schools throughout his career, and is currently principal and 7thand 8thgrade teacher at Emanuel Lutheran School in Hamburg, Minnesota. Emanuel emphasizes “turning to scripture, trusting it for knowledge and wisdom, and witnessing our love for Christ in all we say and do.” One of the ways Emanuel witnesses its love of Christ is to provide learning experiences for all of His children.

Todd is very proud of the success Emanuel’s students experience through the work of LSEM’s teacher at Emanuel, Terri Bentz. “We have a fourth grade student who was well behind in his reading ability as a first grade student. The DIBELs screenings used by LSEM helped identify that he was below benchmark. After this our LSEM teacher teamed with his classroom teachers to help provide interventions. He is now almost at grade level and able to keep up with classroom work and grade level expectations in reading.”

In case you didn’t already make the connection, Terri is also Todd’s wife of almost 30 years! They are both grateful and feel blessed to serve and support children together at Emanuel. May God continue to bless Todd and Terri on their mission, and pray that they continue to serve God through all of His children for many years to come!
