Dr. Tracie Salgado hired as LSEM Director of Special Education

Lutheran Special Education Ministries (LSEM) is excited to announce Dr. Tracie Salgado has been hired as the new Director of Special Education. LSEM is a national leader in special education serving schools, churches, and families for over 150 years, ensuring every child has the opportunity to receive specialized learning service. Dr. Salgado’s leadership and experience will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success and growth of the ministry. As an employer, Lutheran Special Education Ministries is committed to creating a Christ-centered environment where staff can thrive and make a difference in the lives of children with learning needs. LSEM values the expertise and dedication of their team members and provides ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
Dr. Salgado brings extensive experience in the field of special education. As a Special Education Teacher in various states from 2004 to 2023, she has gained valuable insights and expertise in providing specialized learning services. Additionally, she served as an Adjunct Professor at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin and at St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota. She earned her Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) from Grand Canyon University in 2020. Her strong background in special education, program development, and team management will greatly benefit the ministry’s mission. With her leadership, LSEM is committed to continue providing high-quality special education services both internally for LSEM staff and globally through their educational partnerships.
Dr. Salgado and her husband live in Arizona and share five grown children between them.
When asked about how she feels about joining the LSEM team, Dr. Salgado stated, “It is a great honor to join the team at LSEM as the Director of Special Education. With God’s gracious
hand, I hope to support students, teachers, families, and schools to the best of my ability. Like the rest of the staff at LSEM, I hold a passionate belief that all children can learn in the right environment and am excited to see the students with LSEM succeed”.
