On the Ballot for the National LWML

Hey there! Did you know that grants are a way that we help fund our programs and services across the country? One of the big organizations we apply to is the National Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). This year – we made it on to the ballot! LWML ladies from across the country will come together in Mobile, AL this summer and vote on who receives a grant from their mites.

We submitted a grant called Teach Me Too – Preschoolers with Leaning Needs because we have seen a growing desire for early intervention support of children with learning needs.

In 2017, LSEM successfully launched entry into preschool education for exceptional children with learning needs by establishing Let It Shine Academy in partnership with Bethany Lutheran Church in Austin, TX. This was in response to a need for a Christ-centered preschool for exceptional children in the Austin area. It has been a year of resounding success. The program grew exponentially, we celebrated our first graduate, and because of that program we have begun a new preschool partnership in Michigan!

We are honored to have made it on to the ballot for the National LWML Conference. We hope that our grant will be supported so that we at LSEM can continue to reach out to these children early in their learning years, providing them tools, strategies, and support to help them succeed now and as their education continues.
